Question Mplayer

Hi
i'm a newbie to linux.i tried to install mplayer on my PC(Fedora Core 3) and it showed some error messages that it required some other files - Skins , fonts and something else and i really got frustrated when i couldn't find all of it and thus can't install Mplayer... Cud anyone tell me where i cud find all the required files....

everything you need can be gotten at the mplayer website, get the codecs,fonts, and a skin if you want one, I use it commandline only, compile it from the source................read the README file in it too, and you will have to add some options to the ./configure script if you want encoding support for things like mp3lame

Well the problem is i can't configure my modem properly ,, I downloaded the driver, and installed it.but while trying to set up connection it doesn't seem to work( Fedora Core 3,,internal modem-- SmartLink hardware ver.SL1900 PCI software ver-3.40.06U2)..... during the booting process it doesn't seem to detect the modem... Otherwise i Could have it downloaded all required files in Linux easily.....
