Default mouse wheel scrolls down but not up

i'm running slackware 10.1
i'm able to use the wheel to scroll down but when i try to scroll back up it just keeps going down.

i've configured my xorg.conf like this:

Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "false"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "Buttons" "5"

Does the scrolling work properly on any other system? Other OS perhaps?

Delete - Option "Buttons" "5"
You can also safely delete - Option "Emulate3Buttons" "false"
