Default Mounting Optical drives and FDD

I recently installed Slackware, newest version, and When I try to access a cd or try and write a file to a floppy, it says they need to be mounted. How exactly do you go about doing it? Would I do something like mount dev/hdc or something as root? I dont know what the name for the two optical drives would be, or the floppy.

If you have two drives, the first is typically /dev/cdrom0, and the second is /dev/cdrom1.

I tried both but it said that they weren't found in the fstab or something along those lines, how do I get them to be detected there?

I also just tried to hook it up to the cable modem... but kommander, I think it was wasnt, able to connect and I'm not sure how I would configure network stuff on it... I guess I'll go do some searching but help would be appreciated .

Also, I dont know if this would cause any problems, but i still havent upgraded to the new linux kernal, its on like 4. something.

If you could, please, dump the contents of your /etc/fstab file into a post for me. Just open up a terminal, run cat /etc/fstab, and copy-paste what comes out into here.
