Default Modem Installation

OS: Redhat Linux 9 dualboot WinME

Modem: CNet 56k Fax Modem (External)
model: CN5614XE
port: parallel comm1 port

*Windows can automatically detect it as Ambient 56k External Modem

Problems: Linux cannot detect it
I need a driver for it

Please help if you know a way for this modem to be detected by Linux.

Thanks

have you tried checking the manufacturers website for linux drivers? (This will definitely help you out on both the modem and sound issues)
