Default Mandrake Apache

Well, AS I said in a previous post I'm new to Linux and the questions will begin!!

My first question....Mandrake supposedly comes with Apache and an FTP and SLQ....where do I load them from?

I cant find it in any of the menus, though It is supposedly installed by default. I tried downloading it again, but I have no idea how to even run anything!! lol

you wont see them in a menu

httpd starts apache

ftp may be running already, check it and see, most systems have inetd start ftp service

this gets real involved very quickly, and w/o any unix or linux experience Im not even sure where to even start explaining this to you, my recommendation, learn more about linux and basic command line skills first

You can configure apache through mandriva's control centre, I believe

You should also use Mandriva's equivalent to the add/remove programs to install apache, which may under the name httpd

I think you should spend some time with google and researching. I'm not familiar with Mandrake/Mandrive - 9.1 put me off for life so I don't know how you would use the gui config tools. I'm a slackware man you see and compile apache locally at my server then edit the config files to setup it up
