I'm new to this.
I downloaded the 3 iso images, do I just burn them onto cds and boot from them?
they are showing up as winrar files.

Use "Burn Image" in Nero to burn them. Other burning software will have a similar option.

And I plan on installing this on an old 10 gig hdd that I have, will I have any problems running it as a slave drive?

Its hard to say. But AFAIK there wont be any .. there might be a couple of hardware in your system that might not sync with madrake.

Slave or Master is physically the same. It doesn't make any difference where you put your OS.

I burned the isos to bootable cds, but when i try to boot from them it tells me to boot with a proper boot device or insert bootable media into the selected drive.

Make sure that your Advanced Options on your BIOS are set to boot from your CD drive and not FLoppy or HDD 0 or HDD 1.
