Default mandrake 10 mouse probs

I just loaded up Mandrake 10 on a spare PC.

Neither my USB mouse or my PS2 mouse seem to be working.

Anyone have any ideas? It worked during Install, but not once It was all loaded up.

Please do not double post. I know that it was probably an accident, though...

Run xorgconfig (or xf86config, could be either one...) as root, set your mouse to the proper setting, and see if that works.

sorry, im new to Linux.
how do I run xorgconfig?
When I hit the windows Key on the KB, I get a list of stuff, when I try Run then type that, nothing happens.

I did manage to get into the hardware settings and set my mouse to USB, but still nothing...

Run xterm and then su. Type your root password (it WILL NOT show up as you type it) and hit enter. Then, run xorgconfig (or xf86config, I'm not sure which one...).

Note: It will ask you relatively detailed questions your monitor and video card. Make sure you know what your video card is, and what resolution and frequency your monitor runs at, or you may temporarily mess up X11.

(If you're not sure, you can always pick a conservative choice...)

I had the same problem and found out that it was because I had set my security setting to "Paranoid" when installing. Apparently it's quite common. I just reinstalled with the normal default security option.
