| i have opensuse 10.3. why doesnt the locate command work in this distribution. it works real fine in redhat or fedora core and is really very helpful. by the way i am a fan of command line and hence i prefer locate instead of search using GUI. any help is sincerely appreciated. thanks n c ya!! |

| the locate command probably isn't installed. remember that Linux distros are a compilation of commands and applications. edit: i know i used a Mepis variant once that had no locate command by default.
