Default Linux vs. Windows

UGHHHH not another oneof these lol....

but i was just wondering...

everybody keeps tellign me to go with windows..but why? they say that if your going to play games def. go with microsoft. But i was just wondering the real diffrences/advantages betweene the two..

Well, linux does not have any viruses, spyware, adware, or any other crap in the wild. Linux is also easier to manage, update, and it is stable. Linux is easier to use (imo) and hardware setup is a breeze. You usually do not have to hunt for drivers -it just works. You are also very cool if you use linux

A lot of games are being ported to Linux, but if gaming is what you do nearly all the time you are on the computer, then you need to keep Windows around.

Companys are finally seeing that linux population is growing and are porting games to it. The games that run on linux and windows run better on linux for me.

how do you know if they run on both? and i basically just play cs anyway lol would that work?

Windows program need an emulator like Wine to run. The problem is, it reduces preformance. But some games will work on Linux out-of-the-box e.g. UT2004. You'd have to search if the game works with the emulator, if theres a Linux version, or the game does work on Linux.

CS runs very good on wine or cedega.

A lot of games supposedly run very well on Cedega, since it's supposed to be for gaming.

BTW void, Wine is not an emulator.
