ok i had to reformat anhd ubuntu is runing fine now ill just have to start learning this thing now lol

Linux is different from Windows...you have to realize how many years have you used windows? It will take a while to know Linux as well as you do Windows, so Windows will seem easier.

Make sure to check ubuntuforums.org, the forum is SUPER ACTIVE...

You don't have to use apt-get if you don't want to. But after using it a few months you'll want to. Like...which is easier...browing through the add/remove to find Ktorrent...or typing "sudo apt-get install Ktorrent", obviously, its faster, plus you can input multiple at the same time, like "sudo apt-get install ktorrent gftp abiword screem" and it will install all 4 programs at once.

But...you don't ever have to use it.

Add/remove, on the applications list, for general things, and synaptic (System -> Administration -> Synaptic) for specifics, and apt-get is not necessary.

ok here is what happen i got ubuntu running in the middle of updating it crashes and wouldnt boot back up so i tho maybe ineed to do i better clean up on my hard drive so i put it to format on the longer formating process well in the middle of that the danm power goes for for like 2 secs now it wont format my hardrive and says it could be damaged poped in a hiren's boot cd i have and im running
hdd regenerator v1.53 im not familiar with it but is suposto revober bad sectors is taking looong so writing from my sis pc if i should be running some other hd tool instead let me know plz first time doing this
