linux as a server
whats a good linux to use as a server i dont have the money to buy redhat server linux or i would get that what else can i get to use as a server

I've heard great things about debian.. But you can turn pretty much any distro out there to a file server.

1. Install Linux.
2. Install the proper server software.
3. Open the proper ports on your router.
4. Read the software manuals to learn how to maintain your server well.

Linux sucks at manuals.

apparently he never used it, cause if he had, he would have known about the ever-powerful 'man' If you don't get that, then you dont know linux
