| Slackware, although it might not work too well with the GUI, like KDE or Gnome. |

| As it's free it's worth a try. It can't do any harm. The newest one (10.1) should be fine. |

| If you want GUI, it should be really old, or it won't run.

| actually fluxbox or iceWM GUI's will run just fine on it,its got plenty of RAM
try dillo for a graphic browser for snappier performance, firefox will bring it to a crawl as will netscape or mozilla
any distro will work, linux is linux is linux
the trick is knowing what to install software wise |

| Whoa, Fedora Core will slow it down to a halt if you use any GUIs. I'm not even going to put it on my PIII 450mhz with 256mb of RAM because I'm scared it won't run smoothly.

| fedora core is fine, just dont install gnome,KDE, or anything else like that
you want lightweight fast apps
no java
no firefox
no netscape
no mozilla
no eye candy type GUI's |
