Default Linux and NTFS

Linux will only run on FAT32 correct?

If so, no wonder linux is still lagging. Can you even buy a HD thats not already formatted to NTFS?

negative, linux will run on UMDOS,FAT16,FAT32,ext2,ext3,reiserJFS, etc etc.......a whole bunch of filesystems to choose from

it wont run on NTFS but it can mount and read it,just no write as of yet

to be perfectly honest NTFS is a crappy filesystem

hard drives come blank by default usually(no file system)

best one Ive tried to date is the reiser journaling filesystem(reiserJFS), im sticking with it

dunno for sure on that, I wouldnt think it would be a problem, you'd have to wipe the whole drive to change back from NTFS, with windows however you cant do both, its one or the other.......linux will let you mount several partitons with different filesystems on each no problem though.
