Default Linux and internet gaming

Here in the Philippines, on-line gaming is very popular with the younger people at the internet cafes. I am considering buying an established internet cafe. I will have one or two pc's with Windows, but the rest I plan on using Linux. My question is are there any limits or restrictions when using Linux for the various websites for on-line gaming? Since ole Bill Gates is cracking down on piracy, and the Philippine government is doing inspections at the internet cafes, which is an epedemic here, I can use Linux legally without buying a bunch of licenses for Windows. Only a couple of Windows PC's will be available in case someone thinks they need it. How about any plugins necessary for some websites for their gaming? All input is appreciated.

Do you mean flash based games or games like WoW and CoD and that? I mean just about every game now can be used online, but not all of them are Linux compatible.

You will need to make sure you have flash installed. I would also look into locking down the terminal and other such things so people dont use the PC's for anything other than what you intend.

Hey THANKS for your help. I don't know yet what kinds of games they play, but I'll check into it.

Yeah find out what games will be played. Cause if they are games like Counter Strike, and other such FPS games then you will need Windows as they are not fully Linux compatible. Which means you would have to set up each system with Wine and try to get each system working with the game.

Knowing what games will be of great help to know what to suggest. Cause while Linux is a good choice, it may not be one that will work for you.

I believe so, but gaming using wine not always work and when it works it has less performance than windows. My suggestion is to install linux in your PC and try to run the games your planning to have available in your internet cafe and check the performance.
