Unhappy Linux FC4 and External USB 2.0 HD. need help setting it up

I have a lot of music, movies, etc on a Linux computer and I want to transfer them over to my XP computer. I want to put them on a USB 2.0 WD 200Gb HD that is not formatted yet. How do I do this?

Fedora should automatically detect and mount the drive, and from there you should be able to drag and drop the files. If not, we have to do some file editing...

I'm going to try to restart my PC and see what happens.

It used to detect it but now it isn't for some reason.

When I installed, I went to Stanton-fineley FC4 guide and did 90% of the steps except the server setup

First, try this. Open up a terminal, make yourself root, and type
Code:
mkdir /mnt/usb
mount -t auto /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb -o rw
and let me know if that works.

What I stated above should work for both...it just mounts the drives to /mnt/usb, so you SHOULD just be able to copy files in that folder, and that's it...I really don't know what else to say...
