are you talking about Cedega? I don't know. many games are starting to have linux installers, such as UT2004, and when Unreal 3 is going to come out with one. there are also linux installers you can download for other games, such as Unreal Tournament "99", so search google for a linux installer for your game.

but if neither of those are options, cedega wouldn't be a bad choice, but the other two choices would be much smoother and less lag.

Don't use Linux and expect to play games on it unless the games you want to play have been ported to Linux. Using WINE or Cedega to play games is usually more trouble than it's worth. If you're a gamer dual booting would be the best option.

Most of the expensive distros are dumbed down or server editions...

The best middle of the line distros for the average user are free.

Linux is for say, you got a 2nd computer, you're not really doing anything with it, hey let's face it, it's a piece of junk. Well there's a computer to experiment on.

Sure, there's a list of programs for replacement, doing the same task, but you just can not expect much.

Gaming Advantages:
* (None)

Gaming Disadvantages:
* Emulation Inefficiency
* Incompatibility
* Crashes
* (others)
