I'm new in Linux and i have my problems to have all hardware working in my notebook ASUS Z8100G with Slack 10.2.
I've a good job for eth0 but still ALSA and the 56K modem don't work.
I'm very happy if anyone can give me an help for these.

ALSA give a popup at start of KDE that playback can't find device and alsamixer doesn't work

However the big (and strange) problem was kppp

I try for the first time the Linuxant hsf driver (FREE version) and it work but, after, i try other drivers to raise speed.
Nothing to do with pctel (response modem busy) and slmodem (modem is ready but kppp stop to work at initialiting the modem) and...after i reinstall Linuxant hsf, modem is ready but at connection kppp response "Digital Line Protection detected"
(i have three pole line, of course)

Please help me (modem is CXT 1039:7013 Sub 1043:1816)
