Default Re: Knoppix STD - wireless help

JCortes,

Knoppix STD is not a wildly understood distro, it is WAY over most peoples Heads, May I suggest you look at maybe Debian, Slackware or maybe Gentoo. The Knoppix site Itself states that:

"you should at least consider Debian and try installing a curent version of it rather than only installing Knoppix and not having a chance to compare Knoppix to pure Debian"

I know you are not wishing it install knoppix, but the above statement really demonstates that Knoppix is ment to used as a Live CD and not as an installed system. If you are wishing to use Linux then at some point you will HAVE to install a distro, particularly if wireless is concerned (Wireless and Live CD are a painful combo)

If wireless is a big concern then Maybe Kubuntu or ubuntu would be the way to go, they worked really well with my wireless configuration

Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu
Kubuntu - The KDE Desktop

hope this Helps,

Jake
