Default ip question

Not sure if this question belongs here but I'm going to ask anyway, I use a chat room to talk about a local baseball team but I keep on getting booted out of it because I brought up a question about a local football team so the admin keeps booting me. Is he doing this through my IP address? If so, is there a way to get around it without changing my IP? How?

The site is hosted on a linux OS.

Any help is much appreciated.

Depends on what type of software the chat room is using.

BUT... more than likely they are using your IP or hostname. The only way around this is calling up your ISP and requesting an IP change.
