i could connect to internet using ADSL connection until yesterday but now when i try to activate the adsl connection in fedora core 6 it says cannot activate device b - here b being my connection name.please help.

OK, that's not exactly what I was looking for. I wanted you to paste the contents of your /etc/network/interfaces here so we could check if something'd been removed or altered, but nevermind.

Try to ifup eth0 (as root).
