Default internet connection on fedora 6

hey i just installed fedora core 6 and i cant get in onto the internet. i can acsess my router but not a website. how would i go about sorting this up. dont get mad at me for being stupid i only have a very basic knowledge of linux.

add appropriate dns numbers to /etc/resolv.conf probably
