From Ubuntu it would be easiest to find either .deb package (rather than RPM) or find one of the shell scripts that installs flash.

RPM is native to Red Hat. (Red Hat Package Manager)

I believe alien can be used to install RPM files in Ubuntu, but I would need to verify that. (Anyone?)

Alternatively, look into Automatix. Its a relatively good way to get what you are looking for through a very easy interface.

Just use the snaptic package manager search for flash and then install it. As simple as windows.

an even easier way would be to go to a site that uses flash like addictinggames and click on a game to play and a thing should come up saying "install correct plugin?" just click that and it will install flash automatically.

alternatively, think the name of the item in synaptic is Flash non-free
