Default installation query

Hello there, i have just installed linux on a partation on my hard drive. When it came to the part about selecting the packages I wished to install, i only had 280mb free disk space. So i unselected everything and selected install. Now I have linux installed (Mandrake 9) but no packages and when I try and install some now I only have 116mb of free disk, which is not enough. Can anybody help me with this please?? Thank you in advance!

horndude is on a distinguished road

Default

depends on what you want, cant just squeeze an install into that little space.

A full install is probably in excess of 1 gigabyte.A minimal text mode only install is probably 300-350mb.

Either set up your own from scratch or find a smaller lighter linux distro to try
