Re: Install Linux on xbox 360 Sorry, but no. The 360 hasn't been hacked like the other consoles have. The only possible option might be a modchip, but even then it's unlikely. The 360 hasn't really had a whole lot of homebrew activity. Apparently people had small projects running early on, but Microsoft quickly blocked said hacks with a firmware update and no one has been able to get in since. This "I own your hardware" attitude that vendors have isn't looked well upon by consumers, but that's sadly how it is in the console world. The Wii has been successfully hacked and runs Linux without interfering with game compatibility, the PS3 runs Linux without hacks, but Microsoft is reluctant to step down and hackers haven't found their way around Microsoft's determined lockouts. I too await the day I can run Ubuntu on a powerful 3 core 3.2GHz CPU (especially since I'm getting a new 360 to replace my current one soon), but I don't know that that day will ever happen.
