Before entering into knoppix, you should be provided a command prompt ..rite?
enter in there this line ' screen 800x600' , whatvr resolution you want and press enter. It will boot with that resolution.

the x is the letter 'x' right? as a substitute since there isnt a 'times' or 'by' symbol?

Yes, that 's the one. And I cant find anyother symbol other than the letter x which is related to 'x'.

Search tech-forums, google or whatever for md5 sums or md5 checksums... you'll fund out what you need...
Search linuxquestions.org too...
(I could tell you exactly what to do now but Im too tired... Ill take a looksie tomorrow, sry)

why are you wasting cds? you downloaded an iso right? put in the blank, go to "burn image", select the iso and burn
