| ok i am trying to create a new folder in my /usr/local/share folder, i need to create a folder named screenlets, and its saying i dont have the permission to do that, where do i go or wat do i do to become root to do so, and yes i am the owner of this computer |

| make sure you have write permisions for the current directory. If you have root access (which you should), chmod 755 the directory or 777 if you want everyone (if your on a network) to be able to write to it.

| Are you trying to do this by way of a command prompt or some type of "windows" environment?
