Default how do I get linux for a Live CD

I need to get linux for either a Live CD, or a flash drive. so it would boot when my computer starts up. I've looked up some linux downloads, but I do not know which files to download. Please, give me the link, and instructions on how to install it so it would boot of a flash drive/cd. thank you

http://www.kernel.org/pub/dist/knopp...7-01-04-EN.iso

Download this. Using Nero or whatever burning software you use, select the burn an ISO or disc image option and select this file.

Then boot off it - just make sure CDROM is set to first boot device in BIOS. The point of a live CD is NOT to install it.

That's a good list there for a good collection of live distros as well as a few other things. Once you decide on which live distro to go with you will need a program that can make a cd-r bootable and not simply a data disk from the iso image. One free burning program for both cd-rs and dvds is found at BurnOn CD & DVD - Free DVD Burning Software - Freeware CD burner Windows XP & Vista

download a vesion of linux. for example ubuntu. download an iso burner if you dint already have one. use the iso burner to install the linux file onto a CD-R. pop the cd-r into your drive and boot from it. as someone said earlier the point of a live cd is that you dont install it but you can if you want
