Default help Uninstalling Fedora ...

Hello,

I installed Fedora on my PC, I also have windows.

Windows uses partition C and fedora uses the rest of the space.
I want to uninstall Fedora.
I used partition magic on windows to completly format the partition where fedora was.
If I restart my PC I get the following prompt:

grub>

How can completly remove fedora and have the space that it was taking to go to the C partition.

Thanks

Stick your Windows XP CD in, boot to it, go to the recovery console, run fixmbr and fixboot. Then restart and it should work fine.

And that's crazy, I didn't know Fedora uses grub, I thought it used lilo. I guess they came to their senses.

Red Hat/Fedora have used GRUB for a LONG, LONG time.

I think LILO was their default on older version, that's probably why, but you could choose to install GRUB also during the installation. But now the newer version are using GRUB as default.

I KNOW for a fact that RH has used GRUB as far back as 7.0 for the default because I've installed it before. And I'm sure RH9 did too, since I've also installed it multiple times.

I think it was RH 6.x when I first used Linux. It had LILO as default or so if I could remember correctly it was 6-7 years ago. Or unless GRUB was default and I purposely choose LILO, don't remember. Eh....

Now its even, so I will try installing it again this week.....
