| you dont really need to worry about that. Just open synaptic package manager from system > administration. You'll find most things in there. Select them and hit apply. It will download and install. Sounds silly but the concept is fantastic. Give it a go

| Member (again) | I'm sure it is. Look harder. Mozilla Download Download that. Open a terminal, type tar zxvf firefox*.gz and hit enter. As root, copy the folder to somewhere (like /usr/bin), and then create shortcuts. Bam. |

| If your Firefox is still 1.5 or whatever, you probably have Ubuntu 6.06. If you upgrade to 6.10 (Edgy Eft) then Firefox will be updated to version 2. If you want to go even higher, you can install the "beta" of 7.04 (Feisty). 7.04 is nice, but if you're looking for stable, I suggest 6.10. There is a way to upgrade Firefox in 6.06 to 2.x though, I did it when I had 6.06 installed. I just don't remember, just google "Firefox 2, Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake" or something like that. |
