Question Having Trouble deciding

Hey guys,

Recently upgraded my Linux box from A Pentuim II 350 to A pentium III 866. And I am having issues deciding on What distro to put on.

I have Xrandros Open curculation Edition at present, It's Good but Seriously I'm not that taken with it. I'm having trouble Deciding which disro to go back to Ubuntu 5.04 or Mandrake 9.1, i'm leaning toward the Mandrake however I am still conflicted.

Are there any others you'd reccomend? I've tried Kbuntu, Slackware, Simply Memphis, Redhat, Mandrake 9.1 ubuntu 5.04, AT mission, SUSE 9.1 and 9.2, Dead CD, Xrandros, Feather Linux, DSL, Puppy Linux BeatrIX, and FC 1, 2, 3, PCLinuxOS, Sam 1.1, FreeBSD

I've heard good things about Yellow Dog, any other distro Suggestions besides the ones above?

Any help appreciated,

Jake

its not like your choosing a flavor of windows, linux is linux is linux...........you can take redhat and turn it into mandrake, same goes for all of them, you can with some work change everything completely in any distro...........or use an existing distro to create a new one

my advice, quit fooling around, use slackware and learn linux instead of jumping from distro to distro to distro, cause that doesnt solve anything........like I said above, it isnt windows

No Horndude it isn't,

your right I should stop fooling around.... but my main Linux OS, not sure if I told you in the above post is Ubuntu. You will not get me using slackware as it doesn't do much for me, ie. it's too difficult to configure, ubuntu isn't.

You see my main problem is that I am now dishartened with Linux, I only was using Linux at TAFE for an IT couse I was doing. I was thrown into the deep end as I had no experience with Linux command line stuff B4, I didn't know what to reasearch, I didn't even know other Linux Distros existed other than RH and FC4. So I was stuck for A little while, then I started to learn the basics and it became easier. So I bought myself Another machine and loaded Linux onto that, B4 this I was using Live CDs

Now I have NOOB Status.... So in short Horndude I think I'll stck with Ubuntu, it's easier for NOOBS like me, who have only begun to master the basics
