Wow, yes! It worked. The .iso did the trick and now I have nothing except Windows XP. Thanks for the help jakec and Jayce!

it might be a good idea to keep that live cd around. linux can be great fun and is easy to learn with a live cd, since you cant really screw it up too bad like a hdd install. also it is a great recovery tool when you cant get into windows for some reason and you really need your files.

boot to live cd copy files to a new partition and reinstall windows if it is corrupt
