IF that doesn't work, i.e. it says there is no such file, replace xorg.conf with XF86.conf.

uhh, I think I might be doing this wrong, but I typed in "cat /etc/x11/xorg.conf | less" and the xf86.conf of it, and at first it said something like no file existed, and on the bottom it says (END) in highlighted text. Then, I press an arrow button, and this happens

I don't know how to get back to where I was before, so I have to reboot

X11 has to have the first letter capitalized.

Heh..you just press the q button anytime you need to quit out of that. Use the spacebar to move another screen down or the enter button to move just 1 line. Same goes with the up and dow arrow key.

it's like this

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | less

or

cat /etc/X11/XF86.conf | less

Linux is case senstive

****s sake ladies.. I'm gunna recommend UBUNTU!
Download it, burn it and install it.
It will work well and will give you a ground to work on.
I use it on my work computer (self employed) and now use debian on my laptop (its old and slow)
I could never have set up debian without the basics i learned from ubuntu.

I really recomend you get it and give it a go... you'll then learn more when you start it at school/college/whatever it is.
