Default Filesystems

Hello all. So in the past I had a dual-boot setup with Windows XP (NTFS) and Mandriva 10 (ReiserFS) running on my machine. In linux I like to do alot of writing and creative work and I perfer the linux feeling. Unofrtunately on this first setup my Reiser partition somehow became corrupted (I was later recommended to not dual boot). I'm going to chos ea new distrobution (bleh Mandriva) but I was wondering what was the most stable filesystem for linux so I don't have a fear of losing anything. Thanks

Reiser or XFS. Probably Reiser over XFS. But if your machine doesn't like Reiser, try ext3 or XFS and see what happens.

(Note: I always use ext3, not because it's most stable, but because it can be read by Services for Unix/ext2fsmac.)
