which is better, ext2 or ext3 for a linux partition, partition magic is recommending ext2, but i thought i read somewhere that ext3 is better, plz shed some light on this for me

ext2 should run a little faster due to the storage method but ext3 is def. the more stable and probably the way to go if you have sensitive data.

i have never used linux or any of their file systems, but ext2 & ext3 sound like the same difference between fat32 and ntfs.......
