Default fedora core 4

recently i installed fedora core 4 as a dual boot system with winxp-pro. i have had the same strange problem occur a few times. the repeat rate on the keyboard goes through the roof. first time i noticed was when i went to enter the root password and i would type about 5 characters from a single tap of the key. i was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or could offer some insight as to why it happens

I think somehow your sensitivity on your keyboard has gone way up. I dont know how though.

Did you make the right selections in X? I'm taking a guess here because this has never happened to me.

i have tested with a usb keyboard and an old style AT keyboard with the same results. i know the problem seems strange, the thing that perplexed me was that it happens randomly. generally after boot its fine for a while then the repeat rate will go crazy and then slack off to normal then go through the roof again. i'm guessing the next response is going to involve "why are you trying to run fedora on a pc that can use an AT keyboard"
