hopefully someone can help me out here. what are the possible causes for a linux install hanging right as it should start copying files? been trying (unsuccessfully) to reinstall FC4 on my multi-boot and it keeps hanging. my first thought was that it was to do with the creation of partitions. but i then created the partitions seperately, formatted them and just set the mount points. still hangs right before a single file is copied. i don't think its the install media either i ran several checks but hey, the checks aren't perfect.

edit: **** this really sucks :'( excluding my live-cd's im stuck with 3 versions of windblows on my multiboot and that is an unforgiveable crime

Did you let it varify each of the cds you burned. This happened to me, during the install process, when one of the iso's I downloaded was corrupted.

have you cleaned the cds? and checked for scratches

have cleaned and checked for scratches. the cd's are pressed not burned, i didn't download iso's. i checked the install media and am now at a total loss for an explanation well at least i still have debian on my xbox
