FAT32 and linux

i read on the forums, that linux can read and write on FAT32, but what about FAT and FAT16?

FAT and FAT16 are the same.
I am not sure, but I think it can write to FAT also.

Are you still using FAT?

no, im using NFTS, but i was wondering if linux could read and write to FAT as well as FAT32, because i think that the normal fdisk can format drives over 36gb to FAT. i lost the updated fdisk that i had, and cant find the same one... i think the url for it is on the forums here, ill take a look.

Win9x supports FAT partitions up to 2GB. I think XP up to 4GB.
FDISK can create FAT32 partitions up to 32GB if I am correct. Same with WindowsXP.
