Question Downloading/burning

Hokay. I want to try Linux, but I don't want to screw up Windows. I have heard read a lot about making a CD to boot from. So now I am asking the questions.

What files do I need to download? From where? How do I transfer them to a CD so that I can boot it?

So long as I am booting from the CD, and not installing it, I know my Windows will be OK, but I need to know how and what.

horndude is on a distinguished road

Default

http://www.knoppix-std.org/

there's a link in there also to the original knoppix version, the above is the security tools version, either will work fine

download the .iso and burn it as is, dont know what burner software you can use, im not a windows user, but NERO would probably do it

do some reading about linux too, or you will be lost very quickly, start with the docs on the knoppix sites
