Default Deleting Fedora

I installed Fedora Core 3 on a box just to play around with linux. I am currently in school for my MCSA and i got a copy of xp corp. When i put the windows cd in it just says "Scanning hardware config" then it goes black and does nothing. Now i can't delete Fedora i have googled my problem and found very little help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

OK, well you need the Windows CD to properly get rid of the Fedora partition, so I don't know what to say...do you have another CD?

go to http://bootdisk.com and download a windows 98 bootdisk and install it to a floppy. restart the computer, enter fdisk and delete the non dos partition.

Bit of a problem there...that won't restore the Windows bootloader, and since you just deleted GRUB, you need something that will restore it.

installing windows will reintstall the bootloader... he needs to get rid of the linux partition for the xp cd to read the hard drive.

Could you also use the fc4 install cd to reformat the hard drive, then exit out of cd4 install, and begin installing windows? I havent tried it, but it might work.

i don't think you can format to a FAT file system on the fc4 cds. the windows xp cd can't recognize any native linux partitions.. it'll only pick up FAT, NTFS or unformated space
