Talking debian. a new love.

I got the sweetest looking debian system running.

I originally installed kubuntu, but since KDE is so heavy and crappy I installed gnome, which runs so much nicer...

and its so incredible. wow. I"ll upload a screenshot.
this debian system is great.

Ahhh yes, I love Debian too.

I don't use GNOME though...for some reason it runs much slower on my system than KDE, so I just that, which I have no problems with.

Or you could have kept kde and just uninstalled unwanted apps.....

why not just install ubuntu then?

if you like low-weight you should try Xfce, or fluxbox

Default love/ hate relationship

i updated my system, and it installed ice-wm files, and tried to load those when i started gnome, so i couldn't logon to gnome. i then did sudo rm /tmp/,X0-lock so that i could restart x, and then x would start at all. ahh,

apt-get can make or break you...

now its a love/hate relationship.

ice-wm is a window manager that has absolutely nothing to do with gnome.................pick a window manager, then start x
