Default Connecting To Internet

Hello,
I am having trouble connecting Internet from linux. I have a
cable modem Motorola SBXXXX model and service from Comcast.
During boot, the system identifies eth0 .

However, I am unable to connect to internet, either via Netscape .
Even simple 'ping www.yahoo.com' from shell also fails.

I have RedHat 7.2 version of linux. Any suggestion ?
Thanks

Need to set up dhcp client, or set eth0 for it anyway......thats what it likely will use.Redhat has a network config gui, netconf or netconfig I think?Maybe netconfigure, cant recall.
