Default cedega????

so i just got a new video card and tux racer is running GREAT!! I had all of the graphics settings turned all the way up and the game didnt chop even once. So now i want to play all kinds of games. i was wondering how cedega worked. do you have to keep paying a monthly fee for the "privilage" of playing your purchased game titles or is the monthly fee only for updates? how well does cedega work? thx in advance.

Cedega sucks, you will be disappointed. What games do you want to play?

These titles have native Linux versions:

Doom 3
Quake 4
Quake 3
Quake 2
Quake
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
All of the Unreal Tournament games (yes, even UT2k4, and UT2k7 will be out for Linux)
ET:Quake Wars will be out for Linux as well

Quick search on Google, and apparently The Sims does work in Cedega.

EDIT: It looks like Cedega has developed a LOT since the last time I used it. It's definitely worth taking a look at, I am signing up as we speak, mostly so I can play Prey.

Even Battlefield 2 and HL2 run in it.

$5 a month, yes

But I think you pay $5, and then if you don't want updates you can just kill the subscription and it will still work.

UPDATE: Half-Life 2 works great ... all settings on max, 1680x1050 I get like 120fps. I haven't gotten Prey to work yet, but I think I figured out the problem. I'll have to try it when i get back from work.

In my experience WINE has worked just as well as Cedega, so you might want to try straight WINE first (I will admit that I don't have a whole lot of experience with Cedega, though).
