bluetooth in ubuntu ultimate

hi guys,
i cant connect my bluetooth phone to my pc. earlier i used to do it with ease in linux.i have installed all bluetooth applets, bluez utils etc etc. the problem is that my device gets detected but i cant transfer files nor access the phone. what may be the problem??? any ideas??

Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
Which phone is it? Which model?
