normally i would say bt is not an efficient way to dl *nix isos, when you can just get them right from the source. however redhat nine seems so popular right now for whatever reason, downloading from there server is going to take you forever.

here are some links:

torrent search http://www.torrentsearch.net/search.htm

redhat (from the horses mouth) http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/9/en/iso/i386/
linuxiso http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=7

btw, you need the shrike-i386-disc1, 2, 3.iso files.

...i'm outta here, laker game just started and the rockets are going to be eliminated tonight!

the "shrike-i386" files are the pc install isos that you need, the "SRPMS" are the source code files. you dont need to dl them; but if you order a linux distro, they will sometimes ship them out as well. i ordered rh9 when it first came out and recieved 9 cds in the mail.

the md5sum files are 128 bit dig. fingerprints of the isos. basically, you run a file called 'md5sum.exe' from windows in the dos prompt against the iso you downloaded and it will tell you if its ok to burn the cd. the command would look like this: md5sum -b redhat9_disk1of3.iso. when its done running it will spit out some numbers and letters; if they match what is in that small md5sum text file your asking about, you have a clean download.

no, you need to run the executable file. (md5sum.exe) that small text file that goes along w/the iso is what you look at WHEN YOU HAVE THE RESULTS FROM RUNNING MD5SUM.EXE AGAINST THE CD IMAGE.

you can get that file from about 30 different sources here:
