Default A better 64 bit distro?

I've been using 32 bit ubuntu for over a year now and I'm doing everything I wish with it. However, I have just built a 64 bit system and I can't get 64 bit ubuntu to work on it. Windoze works fine, so I'm sure it's not the hardware. My question is...has anyone found a 64 bit Linux that's works on their computer when other 64 bit distros will not?

Just because it works in Windows doesn't mean it'll work in Linux, BTW.

I'd suggest Debian.

Sometimes I can be very tenatious. My problem has something to do with the Edgy Eft version (6.10). The Dapper version (6.06.1) works fine. Thanks for the replies, guys.
