What is the best 64 bit version of a linux OS?

I would stick to 32 bit for now... 64 bit is not much different besides the fact that it is buggy and some programs don't run on it.

again x64 is not buggy as people make it out to be. I had no problems with Fedora or XP x64 worked just fine.

Here you are dude a list of Distros optomized for 64 bit, there are not that many around however this should give you a starting point

Well, I tried one about 4-6 months ago. Perhaps that have improved since then.

Gentoo is probably the farthest along, but if you want a quickie to try, go for Ubuntu.

I fear I may never move beyond the Red Hat / Fedora family something just will not let me go. Thanks but I've settled in with a Fedora Core once again....
