http://distrowatch.com/
http://www.linuxlinks.com/Distributions/
http://www.topology.org/soft/linux.html

Knoppix

BeatrIX
http://www.watsky.net/download.html
Blag

OPENSUSE
http://www.opensuse.org/Download
some people also like Ubuntu

Linux is a lot different to MAC OSX
linux is all command based
You are right about Linux being different than OS X, but linux is not all command line anymore and I am sure almost anyone here will agree that SuSE, well, sucks.

Correct you are. YaST is probably the worst piece of software I've ever used, and I'd rather live without a computer than have to use SuSE.
(Or, I'd use it long enough to get something better, like Debian
)
