Default Beryl error on ATi card

I have just installed Beryl/Compiz on top of Xgl with fglrx drivers. The open source ATi drivers don't support my Radeon X1600Pro, so I had to use fglrx. I have the Window manager working, and the wobbly window thing is great. However, when I switch to the Emerald window decorator, I get this:



What do I need to do to fix this?
