| So I had an old Sony Vaio laying around that had XP on it. The computer didn't work, had some Boot Disk Error on start up. I got my hand on a copy of openSUSE 11 and decided to install it on the machine. When the pc had the boot disk error on it it beeped all the time... beep... beep.... in a high-low rythem.... ex: high, low, high, low... ect. I have open SUSE 11 up and running but the beeps are still there!!! how do I stop the BEEPS!!! |

| Are you sure it isnt a hardware failure? If it is still there that would most likely be the issue.

| Constant beeping usually means a fan failure of some sort as it can cause serious damage to the system. It isn't SuSE 11 doing it if Windows was doing it as well. They are the most opposite operating systems you can alternate from. |

| I don't have the manual for anything on the PC. It came from someone my dad knows and they don't have anything either. I know that it is crapping old. It is at least 4 -5 years old. The cpu fan is working... I unplugged the fan and the pc freaked out even more. |
