Default which arch?

i finally decided to run FC3 on my main pc, but i'm just wondering, how do i know which Architecture i should use.. i686 or the i386?

i386 for a standard 32bit computer eg, Intel CPU's up to the 5xx series, and any Athlon XP. i think i686 is for 64bit CPU's. like the Athlon 64 and the Intel 6xx series, which has 64bit emulation if i am not mistaken.

i686 is anything after K6-2 and pentium2

oh, well then whats the difference between i686 and i386 or i586?

the intel architectures go:
i286
i386
i486
i586-->pentium,pentium2,AMD K6 series
i686 pentium 3,pentium 4,athlon/duron/sempron
i786 or 64 bit-->itanium and athlon64
